Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 2026

Rutledge, Inc. ("Rutledge," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of visitors to our website and users of our property management services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

This policy applies to our website and to the information we collect in the course of managing commercial real estate on the Central Coast, including San Luis Obispo County and northern Santa Barbara County.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

When you use the contact form on our website, we collect the information you submit, which currently includes:

  • Name

  • Email address (required)

  • Phone number (required)

  • Any details you include about your inquiry, such as the type of inquiry selected and message content

If you apply for a lease, submit a maintenance request, or otherwise become a tenant or property owner we work with, we and our third-party portal provider (see Section 4) collect additional information necessary to manage that relationship, such as lease details, payment information, and maintenance history.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our site may automatically collect certain technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and pages viewed, through cookies and similar tracking technologies.

2. Cookies and Do Not Track

Our website uses cookies to operate properly, understand how visitors use our site, and improve your experience. When you first visit our site, you'll see a cookie banner that lets you accept all cookies, decline non-essential cookies, or manage your preferences by category. You can change your choice at any time by revisiting your cookie settings. Declining cookies may limit some site functionality but will not affect your ability to browse the site or submit a contact form.

Our website does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals. You can still control cookies directly through the cookie banner described above or through your browser settings.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to inquiries submitted through our website

  • Communicate with prospective and current tenants and property owners

  • Manage leases, maintenance requests, and owner accounts through our property management systems

  • Maintain and improve our website and services

  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We work with third-party providers to operate our website and deliver our property management services. These providers may receive or process personal information on our behalf, including:

  • AppFolio — we use AppFolio to operate our owner and tenant portals, including lease management, rent payments, maintenance requests, and account communications. Information you enter into the AppFolio portal is collected and processed by AppFolio in connection with those services. AppFolio's own privacy practices govern information handled within the portal; we encourage you to review AppFolio's privacy policy directly.

  • Squarespace — our website is built and hosted on Squarespace, which processes website traffic data, cookie consent, and contact form submissions on our behalf.

We do not sell personal information to third parties, and we do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Portal-based information (leases, payments, maintenance records) is maintained within AppFolio's secured system rather than on our website. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, which may include the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you

  • Request access to or a copy of that information

  • Request correction of inaccurate information

  • Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal and contractual limits (for example, information we must retain for lease or tax records)

  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — Rutledge does not sell personal information

To make any of these requests, contact us using the information in Section 9. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

7. Children's Privacy

Our website and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
